Two news items dating back to October 2010, regarding the discovery of two statues of Amenhotep III

Egypt - Cairo, 02.10.2010 - Archaeologists have discovered the torso of a double granite statue of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, which dates back to 3,400 years ago : the discovery was made in the village of Kom el-Hittan, Luxor, site of the mortuary temple of the monarch.
The statue - 1.3 meters high - is the Pharaoh seated on a throne beside the Theban god Ammon and wearing the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, Amenhotep III (also known as Memnon and Amenhotep for historians Greeks) ruled for 30 years and was the grandfather of the famous Tutankhamen.
This is the third double statue found on the site, the most famous, known as the Colossi of Memnon ", presented at a special feature that made it famous in antiquity, probably due to the expansion of the stone with which it was built" sang "when the morning was illuminated by sunlight. A statue of about 3400 years ago was found near el-Kom Hittan, a few kilometers from the Egyptian town of Luxor, was brought to light by the team of archaeologists working at the site. This would be the torso of a double granite statue depicting Amenhotep III, king who ruled for three decades and is remembered as the grandfather of the famous Tutankhamen.
The statue, just over one meter high, depicts the pharaoh sitting next to the Theban god Ammon.
